Our Vision for the Southern North Sea tidal area

. . . is that of a dynamic, innovative, prosperous and distinctive region characterised by vibrant, inclusive communities, a robust economy based largely on local resources, ‘best of class’ facilities for residents and visitors alike, and natural areas second to none in their beauty, drama and importance for wildlife and landscape.

Translating vision into reality requires a different approach to the piecemeal, uncoordinated and under-funded ways that have prevailed until now. We will only realise our vision by working together on those issues that confront us all. Where necessary, narrow sectoral and national interests must give way to a unified approach to planning and managing coastal and marine resources.
